56th class reunion

We will be holding a 56th class reunion sometime later this year, probably in late September or early October. We didn’t have a 55th, so plans are in the works for one this year. Many have expressed interest, so we think we will have a good turnout!

Time is passing quickly now, so we hope you will take advantage of seeing old friends again!

The date and place of the reunion will most likely be posted by June and we hope to see you there! Will will update this post as soon as we have the details!

We send out best,

Your WHS 1967 Reunion Committee

Coach Ed Sine and Liz Winter

Our dear coach Mr. Sine passed away recently. Coach was such a great guy and mentor to so many. He changed our lives with his presence. Also we are sad to say that Liz Winter, who was a member of our WHS reunion committee also passed away recently. Liz was a bright spot who always wore a beautiful smile wherever she went. We will miss them both.

A Note from Vic Sierpina

Dear Old Friends,

Sorry to hear about dear Liz and Coach Sine.

I will be out of pocket for any planning but perhaps a 56th or 57th would work for us. .

My wife, Michelle, and I will be taking our dream trip of a lifetime: “Around the World in 180 Days.”

We are going on a small cruise ship called Insignia holding only 650 passengers with the Oceania Cruise line. It gets us into many small ports and venues that we would never otherwise visit.

We start in San Francisco in mid-January 2023 and return mid-July. Our trip will circumnavigate the Southern Hemisphere including South America, Antarctica, Africa, then on to the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, and Alaska, then back to San Francisco. 93 ports of call, 36 countries, and 4 continents in total. Should be fun!

Living the dream!

Happy HolyDays to you all.

Warmly,

Victor S. Sierpina, MD, ABFM, AIHM

Just for grins, y’all…

From Dave Patterson….this is my mom, 94 years young, still living in the house she and dad bought in 1957, down the street from Maryland Ave Elementary School. She worked in admin at WHS under principal Irwin, ( i think that was his name)…. She knew Kopke, Rita Boulet, Mr. Auseré, Kathy Mortenson, and stayed in touch with Mrs. Grundy till she passed.
She was also buds with Don Engelbrecht and Percy Tetheroh. She attended all their faculty and staff reunions until about 10 years ago.
That’s classmate Don Jackson next to her, best bud since we were about 15. He’s not in our Senior yearbook, he was absent on Senior picture day, and somehow no other shots were taken for that event.
